Doug Dunakey is not only an excellent golfer; he also personifies the meaning of a dedicated family man and gentleman. Since he was five years old, Doug has worked on his golf game, playing with his father in Waterloo, Iowa. Doug is a rising player on the PGA TOUR.    He has proven that he can compete with the best players in the world with his solid season on the 1999 PGA Tour, and impressive finishes thus far on the 2000 Tour.

Doug first earned his 1999 PGA TOUR Card with a 15th place finish on the 1998 NIKE Tour money list During the 1998 NIKE TOUR season, Doug's years of hard work paid off when he carded a record tying 59 in the NIKE Miami Valley Open. Doug is one of only four professional golfers to ever shoot a 59 in a PGA TOUR sanctioned event. A week later, he shot his second straight 7-under-par 65 for a victory in the NIKE Cleveland Open. 

Doug has impressed colleagues and spectators alike with his consistent and methodic approach to the game. Doug's experience stems from a lifetime of developing his game, both in this country and as a member of the Australasian Tour, where Doug made his professional debut. You can count on seeing Doug Dunakey on the PGA Tour for years to come. Doug is a devoted husband and father to his young son, Nicholas. Doug attributes his successes to his family for their continued support, as he strives to be the best golfer he can be.
