Matt Gogel is enjoying great success in his second year on the PGA Tour.  A year after finishing his rookie season 80th on the money list with $604,199, Matt has played just as well in 2001.  Following two strong showings in the U.S. Open and the British Open, Matt earned a Top-5 finish at the John Deere Classic.  He is currently 90th on the money list with $412,433.

Matt has worked very hard to reach golf’s highest level.  After completing an outstanding college career at the University of Kansas in 1994, Matt played on the Asian Tour in 1995.  He came back to play the Buy.com Tour for four years, earning six victories over that time span.  In 1999, his best year on the Buy.com Tour, Matt concluded the year 7th on the money list.  This ranking earned Matt his lifelong dream of receiving his fully exempt PGA Tour Card.

Matt is playing the best golf of his life and is very confident his success will continue in 2001 on the PGA Tour.  It will not be long before Matt finds himself in the winner’s circle.  When Matt is not playing golf he enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, Blair.
